Barcelona may not be as well-known for its sport as its art or architecture but it may surprise you just how much sport is on offer here. If you want to try something different during your stay in Barcelona, then why not try skating in Barcelona? It is a very fun activity and great exercise whilst you get to know the city. You can see the huge popularity of skating in Barcelona all across city, especially along the Arc de Triomf where it is extremely popular and you can see groups showing off their incredible skating moves.

‘Friday night skate’ is a concept which has spread from America to many cities in Europe, Barcelona included. Founded in 2003, the Skating Club in Barcelona organises a Friday night skate where anyone can join in as long as you have basic skills. If you do not feel confident enough yet in joining in on Friday nights then they also offer lessons every Tuesday. It can be a great way to meet people whilst exploring the city of Barcelona – all for free!
You can also find more information on where the next rally will be on their website.
Ice skating is great in winter and also if you want to cool down during the heat of the summer. There are two indoor ice rinks in Barcelona – FC Barcelona near the FC Barcelona football stadium and Skating Barcelona, Roger de Flor 168.
Over the Christmas period, an outdoor ice rink is set up at Plaza Catalunya and there’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than ice skating in this incredible setting and atmosphere.
