A delightful tapas experience in Barcelona is found in a restaurant with a unique niche you won’t be able to find elsewhere. This restaurant is called Samsara, located in the heart of the bohemian neighborhood of Gràcia. To start with, you will be sitting on cushions instead of chairs, and the dining table is a low sofa table. This is all to provide the perfect blend of North African interior and traditional tapas with influences from the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa.
The diversion of tapas is numerous, which makes it a place to come back to many times for new things to try out. Among other choices you can choose to have the traditional Patatas Bravas, which instead of fried potato cubes and spicy sauce, comes in the shape of fried sweet potato cubes, served with pesto sauce… This might sound strange in theory but in reality it is heavenly!
You can choose to have several tapas, or a menu of tapas tastings to a very reasonable price considering the quality of the servings. One menu offer well-known and well worth trying is a deal for two people for around 20 € / person. The menu includes 7 tapas of your choice, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine. Please remember to ask the waiter for the deal since it is normally not advertised. An explosion of different tastes and delicious combinations is guaranteed.
Samsara is very popular and therefore it is recommended to either come very early in the evening, reserve a table beforehand, or to wait in line to be seated. Be prepared for a delicious gastronomic experience!

El Rincon del Cava
This rather unassuming restaurant from the outside is one of our favorites. The setting from the inside is not very stylish. On the walls there are hundreds of photos of restaurant guests, decoration of past birthdays are hanging from the ceiling, African, Indian, American art can be seen and two large televisions are showing Spanish soap operas. At first glance nothing fits together here.
But at second glance, this restaurant is has a huge warmth and friendliness. For a beer or a glass of Cava, you pay no more than 2 euros. All large tapas cost 2.80 euros, the best price we could find in Barcelona! At the same time the food is very tasty. We recommend gambas, pimientos and pescaditos! With these unbeatable prices, you never pay more than 10 to 15 euros per person, even with a large appetite and several drinks !
A photo is taken of each guest, after that you can watch them on their Facebook page!
