Things to do from home

There are a lot of things you can do from your own home. We are going to give you some tips and tricks on how not to get bored quickly. For some of our tips you have to have certain stuff in house but for most of them you don’t need anything extraordinary. Most of the tips are for you to do by yourself. But if you live with roommates, your parents or your partner you can of course invite them to join in to the fun.

Watch series and movies

This is of course the first thing on our list. You can watch movies and series on Netflix, HBO or other streaming platforms. Or if you still have your old DVD player this is the right time to hook it back on your TV. This also could be the time to watch that one serie you always wanted to watch, but didn’t had the time. Or to rewatch your favorite TV series of all time. You could have a movie marathon fully based on horror or action. Watch all the Harry Potter movies continuously whilst creating your own magic wand. Or even watch the most interesting murder documentaries and talk or think about some theories of your own. So put on your most comfortable clothes, get something to eat and drink, close the blinds, switch your phone, and start watching.

Finally read that book

If you are the type of person that loves reading books but doesn’t have the time (just like us), then this is your time to finally start reading those books. Not only can you read new books but maybe read the ones you loved as a child. Or read a book that a friend recommended. And this might sound weird at first but it is very good to read your book out loud. This can help reduce stress and can help you sleep better. It also helps you focus and remember things better. You can read your books cozy on the couch or under the sun with some tea or a glass of wine.



Can’t go to the gym? No problem, you can get all your daily exercise at home. You don’t need any gym equipment there are enough alternatives. You just need a mat or a towel to make it more comfortable. On YouTube you can find a lot of free exercise videos to give you some examples of which exercises to do. They also motivate you during your exercises. If you don’t have any weights there are a lot of ways to replace them with just some home items. You can find those tips on YouTube as well or just type in it on Google. You don’t need a lot of room to exercise in your own home, you can just move some furniture out of the way. If you have stairs in your home include them in your work-out as well because you can do a lot of exercises on them.


Since you are stuck at home, take some time to meditate. If you already do meditate then you know that you don’t need a lot of stuff to do it. If you are new to it then look up some videos on YouTube or read some articles about it. There are a few ways you can meditate, you can do yoga or breathing exercises or anything that helps you relax. There is something for everybody. You just need a little bit of time to find the best way to meditate that works for you. When meditating you should put on some relaxing music or ocean sounds. But again this is different for everybody, so just do what works for you.


Be a kid

This one is especially great when you live with roommates, your partner or friends. When you were a kid you would love to be home all day long. And what would you do? You would play games, run around and build a pillow fort. The last one is our tip. Build a pillow fort! They are so cute and cozy. You could watch movies, read a book, meditate or just talk with your friends in there. To build a pillow fort the only things you need are all the pillows, cushions, blankets and rugs you can find. Decorate it with plants or a string of lights or just whatever you feel like. To hold up the blankets it comes in handy if you have a rope or something similar. But you can get creative with this as well. For this activity we also recommend you to put on the comfiest clothes you can find.

Spring cleaning

Spring cleaning doesn’t always have to be in spring. You can do it whenever you want. Just start with a room and work your way down the others. If the whole apartment is a bit too much, just start with your closet. Take everything out and only put back the things you really need and wear. And be honest with yourself. To make a big cleaning more fun put on some motivational happy music, or whatever your taste is, and just dance and sing during the cleaning. If you don’t feel like doing a spring cleaning then just maybe walk around your home and rearrange some furniture. This could give your house a whole new feeling without buying new stuff. During your spring cleaning you can also do some home maintenance which you never had time for.

Plan trips

Another fun thing to do when stuck at home, is to plan trips for the future. You have enough time to do research on a lot of countries. This way you can figure what country or place is the best fit for your next trip. Another great thing about having enough time to research your next trip is researching the place you want to stay in. Do you want to stay in a hotel, apartment, hostel or maybe even on a boot? Figure what you want and then start looking for the best deals. Start cooking

Don’t know what to do with your time? Improve or expand your cooking skills. There are so many Spanish dishes that are worth trying. If you have more time you can try out more difficult dishes. Of course this means that you need to do some groceries. Don’t feel like doing groceries? Then just open some cabinets and see what you can make from the stuff you already have. And if you don’t feel like cooking you could also brush up on your cocktail making skills. This is a skill that will come in handy the rest of your life.
