Scubadiving in Barcelona

The Costa Brava is well known for its natural beauty, why not experience it from a different perspective? Scubadiving in Barcelona area, in the Mediterranean is an incredible and active way to enjoy your time in the Costa Brava, where Barcelona is situated.

There are underwater caves, beautiful underwater “landscapes” and thousands of exotic and interesting fish to look at. Experience the mystery of a shipwreck and the beauty of a reef. Diving around Barcelona and the Costa Brava is a very popular past time, you will generally have the opportunity to reach depths of about 100 – 130 feet or 30 – 40 meters. The water is very temperate in the summer, about 65ºF / 18ºC when you get to diving depth.

There are quite a few companies based around Barcelona and the Costa Brava that offer certification courses or day trips and equipment rentals. Before you dive you will have to take a course that teaches you the basics of diving. Prices vary depending on your level of certification and the length of the course you choose. Summer or winter, the chance to dive in such a beautiful place is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Scuba diving in the Costa Brava is an experience you can’t miss!

Depth: Between 12 – 60 meters
Visibility: Variable depending on climatic conditions.

Cap de Begur
Depth: Between 6 – 35 meters
Visibility: Approximately between 8 meters and more than 30 meters in clear conditions.

Barda Illa Negra

Depth: Between 17 – 31 meters
Visibility: Variable zone, usually between 10 – 25 meters horizontally.

Illa Negra

Depth: Between 8 – 23 meters
Visibility: This zone is usually very clear, usually between 10 – 20 meters.

Illa de Gavina

Depth: Between 14 – 35 meters
Visibility: Depending on the season and sea conditions, between 10 -25 meters.

Canons de Tamariu

Depth: Between 10 – 45 meters
Visibility: Variable between 8 – 30 meters horizontally.

    I’m traveling to Barcelona from Hawaii in February and was wondering about dive opportunities. My friend and I are certified but traveling with a friend who isn’t so don’t want to do a whole day or over night dive trip. Do you offer half day, 2 tank dive trips?
