Bachcelona Festival is an international music festival with artists from all over Europe celebrating and sharing wonderful renditions of Johann Sebastian Bach’s iconic music in the heart of Barcelona.

This year will see the fourth edition of this emblematic festival. With a ream of activities and concerts over the six day programme the festival compliments an existing Barcelona based project Bach Zum Mitsingen.
Johann Bach is a widely celebrated musician and composer. The German produced some of Baroque periods most revered music. His work is still celebrated today and he is regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time.
Bachcelona Festival will see instrumental performances and song/dance productions dazzle spectators held in several stunning venues across the Barcelona. The festivals programme sees events taking place in venues like the Palua de la Música, Plaça del Rei and Santa Maria del Mar.
The Palau de la Música built over 100 years ago and is a World Heritage site. More than half a million people attend the Palau a year for different performances. Located in the Eixample area of the city there’s lots to do in this wonderful district where most of the other prominent modernista buildings are located.
Another magnificent venue used for the Bachcelona Festival is the Santa Maria del Mar. In the heart of El Born this outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture was built between 1329 and 1383. This imposing structure has some stunning stained glass windows and is surrounded by the bustling street of the Ribera district. There’s lots to do in and around this district so you won’t be short of dinner or drinks options.
Some events are free of charge and for those events that charge a fee, prices range between €10 – €22. The programme for Bachcelona Festival kicks off on July 21 at 8pm and runs until July 26.
