The Point of Sculpture offers an overview of the practice of modern and contemporary sculpture. The exhibition also aims to show the major transformation of this discipline in the 21st century with the implementation of new techniques and the emergence of new sensibilities. Moreover, the title of the exhibition came from the writings of the Peruvian poet and linguist “Mario Montalbetti”; in which he defends “meaning” as a concept closer to direction than to the fixation of meaning.

For The Point of Sculpture, the artist David Bestué has selected a hundred works that offer us a journey through modern and contemporary sculptural practice; although it also includes ancient works and objects without authorship. Accordingly, close to 100 pieces selected are presented in seven spaces and address a variety of issues; such as the reproduction and representation of reality, experimentation with materials, the exploration of the physical properties of sculpture, and more.
