Music in The Parks (Música als Parcs) and its fantastic programme of open air concerts started its annual merry go round through beautiful Barcelona on June 8. There are shows lined up until August 31 in the cities many parks and gardens. Celebrating quality music with an eclectic mix of different sounds this cultural roadshow will stop off at Parc de la Ciutadella amongst the twenty seven other venues.
Music in the Parks
With some uplifting jazz and soulful blues on offer alongside other more mature genres, Music in The Parks is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and take in Barcelona’s many green spaces. Most of these live performances begin in the evening at 20.00 and 21.00 and last for around one hour.
This summers Music in The Parks programme will see a total of 47 free concerts taking place. Spectators who arrive at these greens spaces an hour early will also have the opportunity to discover the parks and gardens unique histories and secrets as part of guided tours which are available.
Supporting this wonderful festival, a separate series of jazz concerts is taking place throughout the summer every Wednesday and Friday at 22.00 at the Cascada Fountain in the Parc de la Ciutadella. This emblematic fountain sits in the heart of the parks 70 acre grounds and its design is stunning.
The final performance of this years edition of Music in The Parks takes place on August 31 in the Parc del Clot. Don’t miss these wonderful events whilst you’re in Barcelona. This city has so much to offer and its green spaces are not to be ignored.
