Summer is coming to Barcelona and we can´t image a better way of celebrating its arrival than with an incredible music festival that bring best artists from all over the world together? Primavera Sound is one of the most important festivals in Catalonia. During this epic 5-day musical celebration you will fully get to experience Barcelona´s unique spirit at a beautiful venue near the beach, full of happy people and fantastic music.
What is Primavera Sound?
Primavera Sound is an annual music festival held at the Parc del Forum of Barcelona. This year, it will take place from May 30th to June 5th. The two first days serve as a preview of the festival, while the main shows will begin on the 1st of June. This festival offers music fanatics 18 hours of top quality electronic music per day, with performances from over 240 artists during 5 days! People of all ages can attend the festival; however, please note that children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
This year, between the 2nd and 4th of June there will be a new area called the Beach Club, sponsored by Bacardí. This new 7000m² venue will be able to receive 5,000 people and will be home to the new Bowers & Wilkins Sound System stage on which a total of 42 shows will be held during these three days. The stage will host performances from midday until the early hours of the morning. What an incredible place to watch the sunset!
The line-up
Still haven´t bought your tickets? Want to know who´s performing in sunny Barcelona this year? Some amazing artists will be heading over all the way from the U.S.A. to perform in the capital of Catalonia. Performing live at Primavera Sounds 2016 will be Matthew Dear, who has had a very impressive career, featuring remixes of «The XX», «Charlotte Gainsbourg», and «The Chemical Brothers». The Texan musician is also the co-founder of Ghostly International and Spectral Sound, two labels that mark the rhythm of the American scene. Also making an appearance will be famous English rock band RadioHead! Other well-known artists from all over the world who will be at Primavera Sound include Betty Belle, Los Hermanos Cubero, Downtown Boys, Kids From The 90´s, The Chills, Holly Herndon, White Reaper. How to get there:
- By bus: Lines H16, H14, 7, 36 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and11:15 p.m. There are also night buses (N6, N7) from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- By Metro: Line 4 (yellow line) stop at : El Maresme-Fòrum Station. Monday to Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to midnight. Fridays and a day prior to festival days from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and Saturdays non-stop service.
- By tram: Line 4 – Trambesós : Fòrum Station connection with underground (Line 4) – From Sunday to Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
