Montiel Restaurant
Located in the trendy El Born area of Barcelona, Montiel Restaurant specialises in creative high quality Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant carefully selects the ingredients, supported by the friendly and attentive staff, to create a gastronomic experience in the heart of Barcelona.
The restaurant offers two individual, inventive and beautifully presented tasting menus available with additional wine pairing. There is also an extensive wine selection if you would rather choose from the restaurant’s diverse wine cellar.
The tasting menus are priced at €53 and €68 and are made up of either seven or eight courses. Each dish is precisely described by the service staff and are served with petit fours.
The seven course tasting menu starts with a kataifi pastry, followed by marinated sardines and a delightful beetroot “diversity”, rice served with mushrooms and exquisite sweetbreads and then the seafood catch of the day. The standout dish is the duck magret with chocolate, sweet potato and orange. The hazelnut praline chocolates are a good end to the menu.
The eight course tasting menu includes strawberry gazpacho with cucumber sorbet, amberjack fish ceviche, white asparagus, seafood rice and suckling pig served with cauliflower cream, green apple, fennel and dill tartar. The best of the courses is the duck and pear ravioli. Dessert is a white vermouth sorbet and hazelnut praline chocolates.
