El Casal
El Casal is a family run restaurant in the heart of Barcelona that offers breakfast and lunch dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
Located in El Born in the centre of Barcelona, El Casal is the perfect place to sit outside and indulge in Catalan cuisine. Within walking distance of the Plaça de Sant Maria and Santa Maria del Mar Basilica, it serves both fusion and original dishes in keeping with the owner’s own culinary experiences.
There is a selection of breakfast options including pastries, eggs and a wide range of Catalan “Xapata” sandwiches. With 22 different choices if you fancy an early or mid-morning sandwich then you won’t be disappointed. From 08.00 you can even dive into the ten plate tapas menu with options like manchego toast or chorizo.
El Casal has a daily menu with three courses for €11.25 which is published on Facebook each morning. Starters include options such as fish gratin, beef tataki and shredded beef with fresh spinach, mint and coriander and main dishes such as chicken and carrot couscous and roasted pork cheek. Dessert is included as part of the daily menu and include options like banana and chocolate cake, apple tart, chocolate brownie and caramelised apple cake.
