This July Mozart’s The Magical Flute has been reinvented for a younger audience. La Flauta Magica Opera showcases a parallel between this fabled tale and modern day life. Whilst the core themes have been maintained the adaptations allow spectators to see the connections between this classic drama and day to day issues we encounter including love, friendship, betrayal and the truth.
La Flauta Magica Opera, in Barcelona, revolves around a young star, Tamino, and his innermost thoughts and emotions against a backdrop of spectacular music. Symbolism, portrayed via colourful animations in this “silent movie“, plays a huge part in this story allowing you to really relate to the characters throughout this exciting production. With enthusiastic performances audiences are sure to be captivated by this fabulous tale whilst in Barcelona.
Taking place at the emblematic Gran Teatre del Liceu on La Rambla, this theatre is a magnificent venue and worth the entry fee alone. The elegant yet traditional interior features royal red velvet seats as gold adorns the ceilings, walls and balconies creating a majestic and wondrous spectacle.
La Flauta Magica Opera is running between July 18 – July 28 and lasts approximately three hours. Tickets are available for each of the nights productions, but please note that the show is not running on July 19 and July 25. Prices range between €11 and €286 depending on the evening and seating plan. With the event starting at either 17.00, 18.00 or 20.00 make sure you check the start time before you arrive.
