This fantastic fiesta of strings, bass and blues has been running for an amazing 27 years. The festival has long been one of the go to events of the year in Barcelona. Guitar BCN 2016 started on February 18 and has showcased some amazing performers. Covering a wide range of different music genres including rock, flamenco, and bossanova this festival caters for a diverse audience in beautiful Barcelona.
Guitar BCN 2016 has been staged right across the city in venues including Apollo, Barts, Bikini, Palau de la Música Catalana and the Sant Jordi Club. During the 27th edition of this eclectic festival international artists including James Bay, Caravan Palace, Tindersticks and Noel Gallagher have wowed fans with their wonderful performances. The festival also provides the platform for regional and national artists to pack out venues and execute stunning displays of their talents. Luis Eduardo Aute, Rozalén and Adrià Puntí are just some of artists who have graced Barcelona over the festival’s extensive programme.
The final instalment of Guitar BCN 2016 takes place at Auditori del Fòrum. This unique spectre of architecture is located within the triangle formed by Avinguda Diagonal, Rambla de Prim and Avinguda del Litoral. The building is also known as Museu Blau de les Ciències Naturals and was designed by Swiss architects in 2004. The building forms part of the Parc del Fòrum near Poble Nou and is extremely well connected by Barcelona and it’s array of public transport options including the metro, tram and bus lines.
