Beauty and the Beast is a musical created by Linda Woolverton, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice; based on the Disney movie. Also, this is an adaptation of the French fairy tale written by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in the 18th century.
The show tells the story of a young prince transformed into a feared beast as punishment for his cruel and selfish behavior. At the same time, a girl named Bella whom the beast locks up in her castle in exchange for the freedom of her father. Since the Broadway premiere in 1994, the Beauty and the Beast: The Musical in Barcelona has been seen by more than 35 million viewers around the world!
