Passion, rage, big trucks, loud engines and an arena of frantic fans cheering along? That´s Monster Jam! This show is one of the most exciting activities going on in Barcelona in the month of June, and is especially great for families. The trucks are 4 meters high and weigh 5 tons. They are some of the largest and most impressive vehicles in the world. Watch them do extraordinary things in a spectacular arena full of loud fans! This year Monster Jam Barcelona will be held on Saturday, June 4th.
What is Monster Jam?
Monster Jam is a competition in which monster trucks try to destroy their rivals. During the Monster Jam Freestyle, the jury evaluates each team and gives them a score between 1 and 10. The evaluation criteria include the variety of tricks, the creative use of the trucks (e.g.: to hit as many obstacles as possible, including cars, buses and mountains of scrap metal), surprise effect, wheelies, and the overcoming of obstacles (the use of driving skills to prevent or avoid turning over or breaking at each hop). As in any sport, there are also penalties. If, for example, one of the trucks doesn´t finish a lap, or doesn´t finish it on time, it receives a penalty.
One of the most exciting ways to learn about and participate in Monster Jam is to attend the Pit Party right before the show. During the Pit Party you will get a closer look at your favorite trucks, speak with the drivers, get their autographs and also get to take pictures with them. If you are planning on bringing your family to the Pit Party, be sure to purchase the right ticket, the ones including the entrance to the party. You definitely do not want to miss out on this unique opportunity!
