“Enjoy Sunday Brunch with the Beats of Barcelona”
It’s a Sunday morning, and you want to have fun instead of staying at home and watching TV or surfing the net in your pajamas. But where to go? What to do? We have the perfect event for you! Following in the footsteps of other cosmopolitan capitals around the globe, including Dubaï and Montreal, Barcelona has started its very own Brunch Electronik! This music event, also known as Piknic Electronik’s younger brother, was born last year and has become a huge success in the urban crowd of Barcelona. The day´s events include children’s activities, flea markets, vinyl fairs and performances by the best national and international Dj´s in the heart of the gorgeous city of Barcelona, more precisely in the enchanting “village” of Poble Espanyol.
Summer is coming and days are getting longer and warmer! So join us at this friendly musical event and experience a different type of brunch while meeting new people from all over the world. Besides the fantastic live musical performances, the event also features a gastronomic portion and a market with several stalls occupied by unique brands that you won´t find anywhere else. The venue boasts a buzzing bar at which to order their refreshing a mojito, caïpirinha, beer, sangria, or soda. There will also be a food bar serving delicious dishes made with fresh and organic quality products. Favorites include cheeseburgers, nachos with guacamole, eco ham and cheese sandwiches and chocolate crepes.
Are you traveling to Barcelona with children and are looking desperately for a way to keep them entertained? No worries! Brunch Electronik has thought of everything. The event features a wide range of children´s activities, including temporary tattoos, climbing, skating classes, micro-soccer, face-painting and theatre. Please find all the activities in the Brunch Electornik’s website.
More about the DJ´s performing June 5th
She Made Monster: These two French girls (Morgan Hammer and Lokier) were destined to create and play music together in their collaboration, She Made Monster. Together they brew an eclectic blend of slow jams and raw sounds with just a pinch of menacing and sinister. She Made Monster is the first female underground techno supergroup. While Hammer and/or Lokier are great performers separately, their team is simply sublime.
Andrew Weatheral: English Dj, producer and remixer. As a teenager, Weatheral was drawn to pop culture and his taste in music was electric right from the beginning. The thrill of discovering new music overshadowed any need to follow trends. He has made for himself a very well-respected career in British techno. As a producer moving from the sounds of Manchester to downbeat to experimental techno through the 90’s. Weatherall could’ve easily ridden on the waves of the big beat (Chemical Brothers) or high-profile-DJ (Oakenfold) at the end of the decade, but he chose instead to challenge himself by pursuing a more cutting-edge, IDM approach.
Daniel Avery: His success is due to the fact that his Drone Logic doesn’t really fit any expected template of how a dance record today should sound. There are no set piece vocals; when voices emerge on the tracks, they are invariably disembodied and odd.
Ivan Smagghe: Ivan Smagghe belongs to the group of DJs that journalists like to lazily describe as “The DJ’s DJs”. Along with his occasional partner-in-crime Andrew Weatherall, Ivan has the ability to play music like a raw conduit between his famously obscure records and the dance floor’s strobe-soaked body, injecting something of himself seamlessly into the mix along the way.

While families can perfectly enjoy spending their afternoon at Brunch Electronik, the event is also great for those in a party mood. The afternoon continues into the nighttime with a Bonus Track, which is an extra party designed for the fiercest party animals out there. 2016 will see the first edition of the Spring Bonus Track, an opportunity to appreciate the last day of the week with all your friends and party until sunrise! The Bonus Extra Party will begin just after the end of the Brunch Electronik (10p.m) at the Nitsa Club in the atypical neighborhood of Poble Sec. To guarantee you comfort, there will be shuttle buses passing between Brunch Electronik and the Bonus Extra, which can be accessed with the bracelet you receive upon entry.
How to describe Brunch Electronik in three words? Good music, good food and nice people.
So, come and see what the hype is all about with own eyes!
