Joan Miró’s masterpiece are well know worldwide as very vibrant and colorful with a sense of uniqueness that differentiates from other artists’ works. His art works are open to the public in the Joan Miró Foundation, where you will be able to explore both his and other artists’ talents inside his dynamic art centre.
Miró’s foundation building was designed and founded by Josep Lluís Sert, as a symbol of their friendship. Currently a spot well known internationally and one of the cultural icons that Barcelona is proud of, The Joan Miró Foundation holds a series of mostly completed artworks done by the artist himself, giving the public a complete overview of the different stages of his career as an artist. The foundation also hosts the different types of techniques that Miró used to do his work, which later on developed in a language that was unique yet highly personal to the artist, making him one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
Other than Joan Miró’s masterpiece, the foundation house also offers temporary exhibitions of artwork done by arising new artists, situated in the Espai 13 gallery as well as other different activities suited for people with different passions.
