Barcelona for the future sustainability!
Smart City Expo World Congress Barcelona 2016 will celebrate the program Startup4cities that was made by the Red Española de Ciudades Inteligentes (RECI). This program encourages entrepreneurship in Spain and Portugal to overcome the problems of smart cities. Entrepreneurs are given the chance to test their products and services in urban areas so that they can find solutions to the problems.
Another program which will be presented at the Smart City Expo World Congress Barcelona is the second edition of Smart City App Hack. The app creates a global network of smart cities with the same vision to make citizens and companies create solutions to help overcome problems. In first edition 11 cities Helsinki, New York, Phoenix, Portland, Barcelona, Lyon, Dubai, San Francisco, Ghent, Hong Kong and Dubai helped to create 190 apps for urban mobility, emissions, tourism, culture, the collaborative city and energy.
Around 500 cities from around the world will come together in Barcelona for the Smart City Expo World Congress to face the problems of urban transformation in order to achieve sustainability in the future. The conference will provide the necessary items and ideas to improve mobility, energy efficiency, technology and urbanism.
There will be participation from over 400 of the most important international people in charge of encouraging changes in urban future and 500 representatives from cities that are helping to overcome the challenges. The joint initiatives and experiences will be the main point of participation for cities.
