Performing live at the Palau Sant Jordi of Barcelona on April 16th, 2016 will be internationally beloved indie rock band Florence + the Machine, consisting of lead singer Florence Welch, Isabella Summers and a collaboration of other musicians. The concert will form part of the band´s How Big world tour, from March 2015-July 2016. After their performance in Barcelona, the band will continue in Madrid and Portugal before heading to the U.S.
The group was originally formed in London, England in the year 2007 and debuted their first album Lungs in 2009. The album was a great success, staying in the top forty in the United Kingdom for sixty-five consecutive weeks, making it one of the best-selling albums of 2009 and 2010. Ceremonials (2011), the group´s second album, came in at #1 in the UK and #6 in the US. The band´s third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015) topped UK charts and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. The band has won an impressive collection of awards and were nominated eight times for the Grammy Awards. They performed at the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. The band´s style has been described as a combination of rock and soul along with other genres of music.
