With over six centuries of history, Sant Pau is one of Europe´s oldest hospital institutions. Built between 1901 and 1930 the former complex Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau has recently been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being such a wonderful display of Catalan modernist architecture. It was a fully functioning hospital until June 2009 and is currently undergoing restoration to use as a museum and cultural center. As it undergoes this process there are still tours given several times throughout the day. There is also a dynamic program of live music, talks and outdoor activities in the complex, aimed to show visitors the place from different points of view. One of our favorite Apartments Hospital Sant Pau is this modern 1-bedroom apartment Barcelona available as a long-term accommodation for tour guides working at Hospital Sant Pau and for short-term stay for couples or individuals planning to visit the site. The living space comes with two long couches, perfect for two people to stretch out on and relax in front of the TV after a long day. The room comes with smooth hardwood floors and plenty of space to practice yoga in the morning. Although modest in size, the kitchen comes with a fantastic island counter to prepare food on and pass things over to the dining table right on the other side. You will love the bedroom with its elegantly dressed double bed and ample closet space for storage. The room is minimally decorated but very clean and spacious.
The apartment is just two blocks from Hospital Sant Pau and a few minutes from both the Alfons X and Sant Pau / Dos de Maig metro stations.
