La Rambla is a favourite with the tourists for a reason. Staying in La Rambla apartments would be great idea. Running from the famous Plaza Cataluya square, down to the stunning and luxurious Port Vell, La Rambla is simply a must-see attraction in Barcelona, and is a great street to wander down on a sunny day. The road is always buzzing with life, with the charming gothic quarter to the left and the bohemian district of El Raval to the right, the area is full of interesting cafés, restaurants and bars. The restaurants that run down the middle of the road are perfect people-watching spots – you can easily spend a long afternoon relaxing in the mediterranean climate and watching the world go by. As well as restaurants, you will find many independent tourist shops along the road, perfect for purchasing a small memoir of your stay in Barcelona. Half way down La Rambla, you will find the beautiful Liceu Theatre, where you can enjoy the opera or the ballet, and the world famous Boqueria market. We recommend heading here, even if just for a wander, to see the hundreds of stalls of fresh fruit, juices, meat, bread and fish, as well as confectionaries and some top quality restaurants located right in the heart of the market. From the bottom of La Rambla, the Barceloneta beach is just a short walk, as are many of the top attractions Barcelona has to offer. Don’t let the sea of people put you off, but do be careful to keep an eye on your phone and bag at all times, pick pockets are notorious in this part of the city!
