#Artur Ramon Art Gallery

Artur Ramon Art Gallery is one of the oldest art galleries in Barcelona, dating back to 1911. Over more than one hundred years of its continuous existence. Four generations of antique dealers were working in the gallery to bring the best pieces from antique to contemporary art. More than 300 exhibitions are displayed in the gallery. They offer the best from the ancient art world, including spectacular sculptures, old ceramics, engravings and historical furniture. Excluding those, historic-worth paintings and drawings are the galleries’ most proud possessions. The gallery specialises in antique art and aims to bring this to its visitors in a more contemporary way. With the hopes of enabling the visitors to enjoy the beauty of the art in a new setting.

The whole gallery is divided into two parts: the Art Space and the Private Art Gallery. The Art Space is where the exhibitions take place and where the researchers and artists show the antique art. Many presentations, activities, and conferences also take place in this space. The second space, Private Art Gallery, is dedicated to the management of the gallery. This space is ideal for researchers, who can find inspiration for their artwork from the huge library (containing more than 6 000 art books).

It is worth mentioning the success of the gallery in terms of the global art world. It also has many amazing permanent exhibits like TEFAF Maastricht, Salon du Dessin in Paris, Fine Arts Paris, Master Drawing in New York or London Art Week.

The gallery is focused on contemporary art and provides opportunities for young talented artists to interact with renowned experienced artists. This is the galleries’ way of bringing new ideas to the art world and supporting individuals who are interested in all types of art.

During the existence of the gallery, various exhibitions, presentations and events have occurred. However, Project SD brings special attention to the books of the artist works. They do this through special exhibitions and selling them on their webpage. Project SD has had its own editorial since 2008. PDS books started with Archivo J. R. Plaza by Inaki Bonillas and are still growing.

Although the gallery was only set up 15 years ago, its hard work and success has been acknowledged, Project SD was awarded the “Arte y Mezenazgo award” from “La Caixa” for exceptional galleries. Project SD is also a member of ArtBarcelona Association of Galleries. The gallery continues wants to support the contemporary art, that is presented by experienced and young artists there.
