7 Things To Do And See While Sailing In Barcelona

With its Mediterranean climate, beautiful beaches, and party atmosphere, there’s always plenty of fun to be had in Barcelona. But if you need some inspiration, we put together a list of 7 things to see and do while on a sailing vacation in beautiful Barcelona.

Sunset Boat Tour

The Sunset Boat Tour onboard a luxury catamaran takes you past the main attractions of Barcelona while you enjoy the sunset on the shimmering sea. Other options for a tour from the water include a 2-hour trip on a sailing yacht and a 3-hr sunset cruise with live music.

Boat tours are popular in Barcelona and usually include complimentary drinks, and sometimes even wifi on board. But with such beauty around you, why would you want to spend time glued to your mobile devices?

If you’d prefer to charter a sailboat, invite some new-found friends and do your very own sunset cruise, that’s a fine idea, too.

See Barcelona From The Skies

View Barcelona’s coastline in a whole new way. From the sky. Parasailing is a great way to get your adrenaline flowing while also doing some sightseeing.

Several establishments in Barcelona offer parasailing, jet ski, and other watersport packages. Soar over Barcelona and see it as you’ve never seen it before.

Bare All On The Beach

Want to lay on the beach and work on that tan? Barcelona boasts nine beaches along the Mediterranean coastline, all with the EU blue flag of excellence for water quality and services.

Topless sunbathing is the norm for many beachgoers on Barcelona’s beaches. But if you want to be bold and bare all, the golden sands of Mar Bella beach or San Sebastien are the places to go to work on that all-over tan.

Cool Down At The Ice Bar

After that, you may welcome a chance to cool down. Barcelona’s Ice Bar is right on the beach at Port Olimpic, where you can go from soaking up the sun to sub-zero temperatures.

Enjoy a drink from your frozen glass while you chill out, but throw a coat over your bikini or you’ll soon look like one of the bar’s hand-carved ice statues, commissioned by renowned international sculptors.

If you don’t handle the cold well, you can still enjoy a sundowner on the terrace bar on the beach.

Hit The Dancefloor

After your time at the ice bar, you’ll need to warm up again. What better way than with some dancing? No trip to this city would not be complete without hitting the hottest nightclubs on offer.

You’ve spent the day in your bikini. Now spend the night in one. Bikini is one of uptown Barcelona’s most iconic clubs, which opened in the ’50s. Spend the night salsa dancing and listening to Bachata and Merengue music.

For a more sophisticated evening of wine and music, the high-end Pacha Barcelona club is right on the waterfront.

La Rambla Boulevard

Not in the mood to dance just yet? Then head for La Rambla, the most famous of all Barcelona’s streets, connecting Plaça Colon (close to the cruise port), to Plaça de Catalunya where the main shopping district starts.

La Rambla is a wide, tree-lined, pedestrian-only space that for the last decade has become a favorite of locals and tourists alike, thanks to its buskers, flower sellers, and fantastic eateries.

It’s a hive of activity day and night and guaranteed to offer you plenty to see and do. So sit and sip a coffee while you do some people watching. And enjoy the bustling Barcelona vibe.

Festa de Gracia

The annual Festa Major de Gràcia festival lights up the streets of Gracia in Barcelona every August.

Gràcia is a twenty-minute walk from the Barcelona city center. Every year this community attracts up to 500,000 visitors with the Festa de Gracia festival. Six days and nights of concerts, live shows, street food, and live music.

Giant paper maché dolls, traditional folk dancing, and colorful parades add some Catalan flair to this epic street party that covers eighteen streets. If you want to experience the excitement at Festa de Gràcia 2022, it will take place on the 15th – 21st August.
