While visiting Barcelona, we have some tips also for sport and culture lovers all in one. As the name says, the museum is dedicated to the history and development of sport in Barcelona and Catalonia in general.

The house was built in 1911 and was a project of architects Josep Puig i Cadafalach. The modernist style of architecture is evident – the glass windows and general decoration create beautiful outer view of the building. Later was the house bought by a doctor Melcior Colet, who established his medical office there. In 1982 was the house donated to the region of Catalunya by Dr. Colet and the city of Barcelona decided to dedicate this place to the world of sport. In 1986, Museum and Study Center of Sport Doctor Melcior Colet was opened for the public.

In 1991, Barcelona 1992 Olympic Official Commemorative Medals were introduced. Nowaday are inside the buidling various events are organized:

  • Events and presenation by General Secretary of Sport and The Catalan Sport Council
  • Assemblies, courses and seminars
  • Presentation of books
  • Exhibitions
