Gaudí Exhibition Center
Gaudí Exhibition Center is the starting point of the Gaudí route. To learn about the life and the work of this universal architect, you have to visit this extensive collection revealing his enormous creativity and imagination as well as the revolutionary ideas that made him a genius among geniuses.
The Gaudí Exhibition Center embraces a unique collection of the great architect’s works, objects, and documents because the exhibition represents one century of international research relating to his revolutionary way of work.
The exhibition space was opened in September 2015 in the famous Pia Almoina building in the Gothic Quarter. It was privately financed as a Molines Patrimonis project also thanks to the collaboration of the Museu Diocesà de Barcelona, The Gaudí Research Institute and technological support from Samsung.
The Center consists of 1,000 sq meters, distributed over three floors and offers:
- Medieval building, HQ of Diocesan Museum of Barcelona
- Audio guide in 10 languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean.
- Unique scenographies and models
- Audio visuals and virtual reality experience through Samsung’s Gear VR glasses
- Spectacular 180o preface video
- Original documents and pieces
The Virtual reality area is one of the most fascinate things that you can experience inside the museum, since it allows you to travel into the past and visit the Crypt of Colònia Güell.
The use of technological and digital equipment, such as a large format display technology, video wall solutions, multimedia app with smartphone devices complements the visit in an innovative way.
