Food Tour in Poble-Sec by The Barcelona Taste
Is new food discovery an exciting aspect of your ideal holiday? Then you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to join the next Food Tour held by The Barcelona Taste in Poble-Sec! Strolling through the streets of this old but elegant district you will have the opportunity to taste some of the most delicious food the Spanish cuisine has to offer. All while enjoying a relaxing chat with new friends and a local experienced guide.
The performing arts district of Poble-Sec
Poble-Sec (Catalan for “dry village”) is a centrally located neighborhood of Barcelona. It is so named because up until the 19th century, when a fountain was built, it had no source of water. After that it developed into one of the most dynamic areas of Barcelona. With its theaters and nightclubs, the district is the perfect mix of old but elegant 19th-century architecture and entertainment. Despite its central location, Poble-Sec doesn’t tend to be as crowded of tourists as other neighborhoods. This way people who visit the district have the feeling they are seeing the “real” city.
In the past few decades Poble-Sec has become a popular destination for food lovers. The young chefs who run those new and exciting restaurants offer their customers a captivating combination of traditional dishes and contemporary innovation. This makes Poble-Sec the perfect setting for a tapas tour in Barcelona.
About the Food Tour
Since 2009 The Barcelona Taste introduces both curious locals and tourists to the culinary experiences that Barcelona offers. Their tours are fully gastronomical, meaning they won’t be historical walking tours with some snacks at the end. During the three hours long tour you will stop in three small restaurants. There you will taste all their specialties! Whether you like fish, meat or vegetables, with tapas there will always be something for everyone.
Tour groups are usually no larger than six. This will guarantee an intimate and discreet experience of the highest quality small food establishments. A local guide will lead you through all the places locals enjoy the most, all while chatting about anything and everything. And by the end of the night you will also have made some new friends!
