Some improvised laughs at the International Comedy Festival in Barcelona!
The best improvised comedy festival in Europe will be in Barcelona for the fourth year. Barcelona Improv Group International Comedy Festival is in English and has over 180 improvisers from over 20 countries. The festival shows the increase in English speaking theatre and comedy groups in Barcelona and also the popularity of improvised comedy in theatre genre.
There are 10 new shows this year at the Barcelona Improv Group International Comedy Festival because of the increase in demand. In Barcelona only 10 impro groups perform regularly who will be at the festival, but there will be shows, workshops and lots of other things to see. There will not only be acts in English, the group Impro Acatomba act in Catalan and The Modestos act in Spanish.
The events will take place at different locations, no more than 15 minutes from each other. Workshops will take place at Swing Maniacs in the Gracia area which is a venue for swing dancing so come for dance fun afterwards. The comedy club is a theatre called El Cercle.
If you are interested in learning impro there will be over 30 classes for all skill levels. Also there are team coaching sessions. The event is open to all ages however some performances may not be suitable for younger people.
