Bring together; Art, Activism, Society and Performing Art
Festival de Creació Contemporània Barcelona – the Contemporary Creation Festival brings together art, activism and society as well as performing art professionals. It uses new spaces and methods to make performing arts better understood and more easily available to the public. It also works with emerging artists by allowing them to develop their work with the citizens.
A piece which is not to be missed from the display is Fugit, which was produced by a range of artists of different nationalities. It was made in response to the increased concern over immigration and looks at problems such as integration. This piece even brings the audience in to participate.
The work by Jaime Refoyo is also exciting. It looks at human nature and the boundaries between movement of the body and its surrounding space. The festival is worth visiting if you are in Barcelona.
