Catalonia Square ice rink
Every year at Plaça Catanlunya an ice rink is set up and open for the public to experience ice skating in the very city centre of Barcelona, something quite unique in Spain. Decorated with various Christmas lights this event is truly giving both the people, and the city a certain atmosphere telling us that Christmas is coming. If you are interested in trying some ice-skating it is just €7 for half an hour or €10 for an hour. Both prices include skates and a helmet. Note that an adult must accompany children under 12 years old. If you are interested in taking it to the next level, there will be complementary guided activities such as learning how to skate better or trying out some sports that are played on ice.
This opportunity is available from the 21/11 until the 11/1 and is located right on Plaça Catalunya. For more information about the complementary guided courses, visit their webpage for more information.

175 years of mystery behind Barcelona’s first photography
At the moment there is a photography exhibition in Barcelona that presents collections of photography’s that was taken back in the days. The oldest photography is a photo that was taken in Barcelona on 10th of November 1839 from a terrace on Pla de Palau. This unique photo was taken using the daguerreotype technique, was raffed and then vanished without a trace for ever after. There are many other unique photography’s that are displayed as well, a truly fascinating exhibition for all those who love photography, and other curious people too of course.
If you want to experience this exhibition it’s between the 13/11 until the 2/28. It’s open Mondays to Saturday 10:00 – 19:00, except public holidays. And the admission is free! The exhibition is located at Pl Pons I Clerch 2, in the district of Ciutat Vella.
