Sala Montjuïc: Barcelona’s outdoor film festival

Calling all film fanatics! Relax under the starry skies of the Gardens of the Montjuïc Castle with classic films, from The Godfather to Grease. The festival runs from July 6th to August 8th with screenings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

If you’re in Barcelona during the summer, make sure to attend Sala Montjuïc, an incredible outdoor film festival located in the famous Montjuïc hill!

As the doors open at 20.30 in the evening you’ll be able to enjoy live music and a picnic while the sun sets. The screening of a short film usually follows the concert. The film starts at 22.00 and ends at around 00.30. Given the variety of films, the festival suits both family outings and romantic night outs.

Tickets can be bought online or at the door for 6 euros per person. There is a free bus service to take you to the castle grounds that leaves from Plaça Espanya at 20.15 in the evening, and will bring you back when the screening is over. As an added bonus on Wednesdays, a guided tour of the Montjuïc Castle is offered for an additional fee of 4 euros (Total ticket price 10 euros).
