The Mediterranean gives you a warm welcome in PortAventura as it is the main entrance of the park, it features about three rides and there are many restaurants and shops. Upon arrival you will enjoy not only some of the most amazing rides but also the magical entertainment.
The main attraction of this area is the ‘Furious Baco’ which is an accelerator coaster with winged seating, with a speed of 135 km/h it’s the fastest rollercoaster in Europe! Another ride in this themed area is the ‘Estacio Del Nord’. Last but not least, ‘Port de la Drassana’, one of the boats rides station which takes visitors from this area to the Chinese area.
The Mediterránia holds the show for the Halloween parade, where the whole park is dressed in black and purple and there are many characters disguised in different costumes. Their mode of transport, is an old fashioned horse driven funeral carriage, pumpkins, skeleton riding a bicycle boat and of course a very scary large demon.
This is where you can live the fun exciting adventurous themed as an old American west town. This world has many western buildings and sculptures; and it has over 9 different attractions making this area of the park the biggest of them all. Put yourself in the shoes of a real Far West cowboy in our Far West area inspired by the North American culture.
Some of the attractions include a Wild West version of tea cups and dodgems. This favours thrill rides such as, ‘Stampida’ a race between two herds of buffalo, known as the third largest roller coaster in the park. Another one called the Grand Canyon Rapids, a white water tub raft where there are water cannons next to this ride, allowing guests to splash people on the rides.
The rides in PortAventura World’s México themed area are only for the bravest amongst you. Overcome your fear of heights 100 metres in the air on Hurakan Condor and spend time as a family accompanying the little ones on their favourite rides.This features temples, statues, dense vegetation ancient ruins and a great Pyramid that is the Entranceto the Gran Teatro Maya, the biggest show zone of the park.
One of the attractions in this area is the ‘ Hurakan Condor’ which is an intamin tower ride operated by a cable lift, this shows a large view at the top before rides are sent to free fall to the bottom of the ride. This is also considered to be one of the tallest in the world at 330 ft and is somewhat labelled as the greatest. You can enjoy the Mexican cuisine at the restaurants that will provide you with a show where people sing and dance to the Mexican rhythm.
Explore and enjoy the most amusing and exotic experiences of the jungle, with attractions full of excitement. Cool off whilst still keeping the excitement levels high on the refreshing Tutuki Splash, Canoes and Kontiki, the best rides to experience the most tropical world of the park as a family.
This area is a bit more laid back with less thrilling rides, set up amongst the palm trees, shrubs and plants in this area. It’s one of the smallest themed areas and is home to two shows and a few attractions. One of the main rides is the ‘Tutuki Splash’, which is a water ride amongst a erupting volcano.
This is considered to be the biggest land of the theme park, this includes a Chinese buffet called Marco Polo with a good range of diverse dishes available. The main part is designed in the same way as the Great Wall of China.
Conquer the skies 76 metres in the air on Shambhala, PortAventura Park’s highest roller coaster. The most challenging ride of PortAventura is the Dragon Khan, which is the most iconic ride and acts as the host of imperial China. Are you brave enough to experience 8 loops of Dragon Khan at 110 km/h? If you want to have fun with the kids, you will also find attractions suitable for the whole family.
This area is dedicated to the Sesame Street characters and it is the perfect place for a family with young kids. There are many characters to meet from the children’s show such as Bert and Ernie that will delight children of all ages. The little ones are treated to some unforgettable experiences and shows. The area has over 11 rides, discover exciting rides such as Magic Fish and thrilling roller coasters for children, such as the Tami Tami.
