Stockholm University, Sweden
I did an internship for two and a half months (from November until the middle of January) at Barcelona Home and Capture Models. I worked mostly with social media, marketing, and website development. The internship was an obligatory part of my university programme but I consider it a great experience overall as well. I got to try lots of different tasks that I didn’t have much experience of before. In addition to that, I think most of the tasks that I have been working with are something that will “look good on your CV”. Thus, the internship will the most likely help me in job searching in the future. Also, I think that all kinds of experience from abroad are extremely valuable.
I’m used to working with an international team and that is the working environment I like the most. Barcelona Home was indeed an international company, which attracted me in the very first place to apply. I also had the possibility to affect my working hours and choose tasks that were most relevant for me. I appreciate that Barcelona Home and my supervisor respected my wishes and goals when giving tasks to me. The environment in the office was everything from relaxed to hectic, which made every day different. The whole Barcelona Home team was welcoming and helpful from the start until the end. However, as the team mostly consists of interns, the personnel is changing constantly. This complicates the development and growth of the company and also has an effect on the individual learning process of an intern.
I would recommend an internship at Barcelona Home to all those, who like to find creative solutions for problems independently and want to gain experience in many different fields. Barcelona Home works with lots of different services, which gives the company the potential to teach an intern broadly about different tasks and subjects. All in all, I enjoyed my time in Barcelona and I would gladly return to the city in the future.
