Best opera show in Barcelona!
LA TRAVIATA is a great drama by Giuseppe Verdi, based on the novel “The Lady of the Camellias” made by the son of Alexandre Dumas. This story is one of the most performed and most famous operas. It’s known all over the world and they play it on a daily base. It includes bright and known fragments such as the duet “Brindisi”, the spectacular aria-cabaletta of Violetta “Sempre Libera”, and the touching final “Addio del passato.”
It all started in 1853 when the La Fenice theater in Venice asked Verdi to compose an opera. That’s how La Traviata was born. And now this masterwork is going to be performed in Barcelona’s own Palau de la Música Catalana, by the soloists of the Orquesta Terrassa 48 in the form of a passionate operaclassic by Verdi.
The Palau de Música Catalana , located in the Barri Gótic neighbourhood, is a concert hall in Barcelona that is designed by Lluís Domenech i Montaner, one of the architects who stood at the base of the Catalan modernism.
