Each year in August during a week, Gràcia’s district transforms into the most colorful area in Barcelona.
It’s one of the most awaited events in the city, during the week, take part of free concerts and shows, walk through the neighborhood to admire lovely streets. This festival is considered as the best, the most beautiful, the most festive and the most welcoming festival.
In the past, Gràcia was a village in its own, separated from Barcelona. Just in 1897 it has been attached to Barcelona. That’s why you can feel in this neighborhood a special ambiance. Gràcia is an uptown area with a bohemian atmosphere and busy bars and cafes. The main aim of this festival is that the streets of Gràcia’s neighborhood compete to win the prize of the best-decorated street. Each street chose the theme and it can cover everything, from Roman wrestling to underwater sea life.
