Montgat

montgat

Montgat is a Spanish town in the province of Barcelona. It is the southernmost town of the region of El Maresme, located between Badalona (Barcelones), El Masnou, Tiana and Alella. The old center is situated around the Montgat Turo, a small cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The municipality is located on the rugged buttresses of the coastal mountain along with several other hills, such as Les Guixeres (112 meters) and the Marquesa (64 meters). As you leave the town to go north towards El Masnou there is a small core called Monsolís. The oldest part of the town, which is situated near the beach, still retains its historical constructions. However, several new buildings have recently been added, as a large population of people moved to the region because of the improved transportation to the city of Barcelona. There are two beaches up the coast of Montgat: the ancient Baths and Beach Montgat Monsolís, separated by a hill.
